I love the way this child looks like some sort of very intense Christmas elf, DRIVING her carousel horse. It is also as if she and that pipe-playing cherub are related...
Here are the last pictures batch of from Carnevale. I was mostly interested in the children and in people getting tired in their costumes (see Mr. & Mrs. Satan). It was curious to see how many people wore costumes that were broad (or overtly racist) stereotypes of different ethnicities. NOT shown here were any number of Mexicans(sombreros, serapes, fishing gear, etc), Blacks (mostly a kind of huge Afro-ed disco version- American?) and Japanese. On this same note, jewelry featuring "moors" heads are widely available in rather expensive shops, and "testa di Moro"(moor's head) is a burgundy colored shoe polish. Go figure.
